Dr Thompson has applied his diverse experience, including ten years as an English Professor, as well as five years as a police officer, to create an internationally recognised training program in Tactical Communication. He has published three books analysing the relationship between language and citizen reaction and recommends positive actions to defuse conflict.
A student of the martial arts, Dr Thompson holds black belts in Judo and Tae Kwon Do. He has completed post doctoral work at Princeton University in Rhetoric and Persuasion and in 1975 was voted an outstanding Educator of America. He has taught over 300,000 police officers from over 1000 departments in the USA and Canada, as well as large corporations like IBM, Metro Life and General Motors.
